It was actually a +85% test, but unfortunately with error for both one time series today

Step by step

Every single passage step with power of the ground, 100% clear rhythm, and not least it does not come from tension - this is pure dancing in the passage rhythm with top expression. The half passes are super well balanced, lovely suppleness, crossing and uphill. For today’s extensions the body language was much more relaxed compared to yesterday’s Grand Prix. The extended walk starts with some tensions in the body but becomes better for the 2nd half. Into first piaffe, trying to catch the details when Isabell asking for the piaffe, and Bella just starts like putting in a coin - also without tensions and not that Isabell is not able to ask, wauw to watch. Minor tensions creeping in towards second piaffe, but Isabell just keep on and Bella is accepting and doing her job - acknowledged with a clear pat on the neck from Werth. A small start of canter when turning towards the planned transition at the centerline for the canter. For the canter tour the overall picture was with more control and better balance today even though there was an error for both one times, by the 15 one times stopped after just 13 but got the last two, and for the 9 one times at the centerline she lost the final change, right pirouette was clearly the best today where she kept the canter rhythm quite well all the way, and the final centerline 5 x 10.

Both judges at E (Susanne Baarup DEN) and H (J. Lee Foy AUS) saw today’s test at +83% which was the clear level. It was a much better test than yesterday with more control and overview. Result 81,511%

Bella Rose winner of CDI4 Grand Prix with nearly 83%

Most beautiful event Fritzens-Schindlhof in Austria

Most beautiful event Fritzens-Schindlhof in Austria

Isabell Werth can ones again add another huge victory to her CV together with Bella Rose. From the sideline it seems that they always have to be at 80% level - today stepping up with nearly 83% - 82,957%.

Unfortunately there are no access to the detailed scoring today, but for sure a lot of 10´s for piaffe, passage and transitions. It is an expressive, ultra light-footed test, for the extensions some more let go and relaxation were needed, the halt with rein back with some hesitation, the extended walk lack bit more relaxation over the back, bit hectic picture of both two times and one times, like both pirouettes lack bit more clear canter rhythm and sit.

Today’s no 2 Lisa Müller with her Stedinger / De Niro son Stand by Me. Lovely power expression and so much natural suppleness and go for the trot tour including super passage and piaffe tours, good walk tour, for the canter tour some tensions creeping in with an error for the two times, nice zigzag, bit tense one times, first pirouette becomes a bit volte like while the second is better centered. Personal best score with 75,478%.

Danish Warmblood final selection made today for WCYH in Ermelo

DV LOGO.jpg

World Championships for Young Horses is not just a competition among Worlds best young horses, but also a very prestigious window for each breeding society, riders, breeders and owners to show their horses the absolute best way.

Three clear gaits are mandatory, modern types, harmonious and expressive presentations and not least the rider experience is a major factor entering the arena at WCYH.

Equal terms for all combinations

In Holland they have three selections which gives space for “a legal dropout”, and at the same time the judges have already seen them before the final selection.

In Germany they have two selections, the first with a mandatory training day and advisory, and then the second day where they ride the preliminary test. Final selection day is where they will ride the finale test.

The Danish selection is based on 1st observation where day one is with riding of the preliminary program and day two is with riding the test for the finale. About just two weeks later is the final selection, just one day riding the finale test.

Apparently it is not a must to join both Danish selections when aiming for one of the attractive World Championship spots for Danish Warmblood.

This year 6 year old Straight Horse Ascenzione with Helen Langehanenberg just showed at the 1st observation and were selected for Ermelo today, and 6 year old Lindballes Just Perfect with Ann-Christine Wienkamp just showed today for the final selection and is selected for Ermelo too.

Wonder what the selection produce would be if one of the Danish based horses stayed home either for the first eller final selection?

Product of the breeding

Each horse is a product of the breeding, if it is a gelding, a highly graded mare or a breeding stallion.

For both the Dutch and the German breeding societies it is an even more prestigious window to be able to show their best stallions at the WCYH.

Only Danish Warmblood stallion representative selected for the 3rd time is gold medal stallion Hesselhøj Donkey Boy with Jan Møller Christensen for the 7 year old horses.

The clearly missing combinations

For the final Danish selection the Danish Warmblood selectors chose not to let the 5 year old approved stallion Tørveslettens Sylvester with Severo Jurado Lopez through to Ermelo. A really worthy representative for Danish Warmblood with one of World best riders in the saddle. (Below you will find the video from 1st selection).

Also clearly missing among the 6 year old selected is Atterupgaards Delorean with Selina Solberg Vittinghus. This combination is just a WOW representative for Danish Warmblood. Last years words from German commentator Plewa “look a the body language of the horse, for me it´s a world class horse, top class horse”.

The Dutch Dressage Team wins on Home Turf

Main-Events_FEI-D-N-CUP.jpg

News at FEI

Finishing on a total of 17 points, the Dutch team edged out second-place Sweden by just 2 points, after the two nations battled it out for the top podium spot in a weekend of superb Dressage action.

Third place at Geesteren went to Great Britain, who finished on 48 points. Midway through the season’s events, participating countries are hoping to qualify for the FEI Dressage Nations Cup™ Finals at Hickstead in Great Britain, which will be held during the last week of July.

After the first day of competition with the Grand Prix test, the Netherlands were in the lead, thanks to Edward Gal’s individual number-one performance aboard Glock’s Zonik N.O.P. for a total score of 78.304 percent.

Backing up Gal was teammate Emmelie Scholtens and her mount Desperado in fourth place, with Dutch riders Anne Meulendijks and Hans Peter Minderhoud taking sixth and seventh place respectively.

Heading into Sunday’s Grand Prix Freestyle competition, Team Sweden were in first place, having taken over the leaderboard from the Netherlands in the Grand Prix Special. Whilst Scholtens and Minderhoud captured the second and fourth places in that event, the Swedish Ramel sisters, Juliette and Antonia, dominated, taking first and third on scores of 79.915 and 74.660 percent.

Not to be trounced on home turf, the Dutch Dressage team came on strong for the final Freestyle event. Once again topping the leaderboard, Edward Gal turned in a stellar performance that showcased gorgeous extended gaits on Glock’s Zonik for collected marks of 82.250 percent, demonstrating why he is always a crowd favourite.

Swedish rider Therese Nilshagen finished second on 81.495 percent, in a programme that highlighted the powerful impulsion of Dante Weltino OLD, whom Nilshagen calls “the horse of my life.”

The bronze medal in the Freestyle was awarded to Anne Meulendijks who finished on 79.825 percent. Another crowd pleaser, Meulendijks showed off MDH Avanti N.O.P.’s clean pirouettes and supple half passes to help boost her team to the win.

Gal and Zonik winner today, but very close race with Juliette Ramel with Buriel, and a look at the scoreboard judge at B Francis Verbeek-van Rooij (NED) saw Gal 3% ahead of Ramel!

From H2R point of view clearly a difference of the overall harmony in the advantage of Ramel today.

Glock’s Zonik NED - super halt and direct forward, power extension, good half passes, bit open halt resist rein back, good 1st piaffe/passage with good transitions, superb walk, bit tensions hind for passage, good 2nd piaffe, good 2 times, zigzag need bit more balance, super 1 times, 2nd pirouette with nice balance, power diagonal, good centerline.

Last to go Buriel KH SWE - bit unbalanced halt, good diagonal, nice half passes, tense rein back, super passage easy in and out of active piaffe at the spot, good walk, super 2nd piaffe 12 steps, super 2 times, bit conservative extended canter, super zigzag, nice 1 times, wow 1 pirouette, 2nd tiny sideways at final, super diagonal, superb final - WINNER from H2R 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻

Dante Weltino OLD SWE - super power test without technical issues, active piaffe tours small lack of balance in the piaffes, and one times with some tensions.

British team 3rd

A strong performance from British Van Olst Horses rider Charlotte Fry with Dark Legend secured the Brits the 3rd place in the team ranking after today’s Grand Prix. Fry is showing a strong test with nice forward flow all the way. At the moment Lottie looks like the 4th member of the British team for the Europeans.

Dark Legend GBR - power diagonal, smooth half passes, open halt and bit tense rein back, good transition to passage, active piaffe becomes bit high in the neck, good walk, good 2nd piaffe tour, nice 2 times, well balanced zigzag, good 1 times, super nice control for both pirouettes, smooth transition to trot, super final centerline.

Unfortunately there were some technical issues for the streaming during most of the Grand Prix class today, which made it very complicated to follow.

Bonita Springs and Kira Wulferding with superb performance and ticket for Nürnberger Burg-Pokal final

Screen%2BShot%2B2019-06-22%2Bat%2B18.11.24.jpg

Strong field for this leg of Nürnberger Burg-Pokal qualifier

High quality of performances for the qualifier at Gestüt Bon Homme this weekend, and Kira Wulferding showed both from the “preliminary” St. Georg Special with the victory scoring 76,610% and today’s final qualifier with impressive 78,025% that she is definitely ready for the final with the just 7 year old Bonita Springs by Boston / Fidertanz. (wonder why she was not among the German Young Horses for Ermelo?)

All other placed combinations today were at 72% level.

Vitalis offsprings makes very good impressions

A total of 5 Vitalis offsprings for today’s final qualifier - all showing super rideability with three good gaits, good contact and good balance, among them German top rider Fabienne Müller-Lutkemeier with two Vitalis offsprings.

No doubt Andreas Helgstrand will for sure enter the centerline more than ones this year in Ermelo.

Yesterday he proved himself in Warendorf together with 6 year old Revolution (final selection 2 July) and today he smashed it again with a smooth, well balanced and top expressive test in Ermelo with 5 year old Jovian (result public tomorrow).

For Danish Warmblood Andreas Helgstrand will also be ready with 5 year old Queenparks Wendy and 6 year old Zhaplin Langholt (not selected yet - 25 June).

Revolution and Andreas Helgstrand.

Revolution and Andreas Helgstrand.

Just 9 combinations appointed by the 6 year old horses in a total field of 25 starters

Two of the combinations will not make it for WCYH, and from H2R point of view Ben Vito with Stefanie Wittmann and High Heels with Patricia von Merveldt looks like the combinations needed a bit more time to be ready.

Helgstrand and Revolution showed an outstanding performance even with the halts and the rein back in a class of its own.

1st observation with selection for the German Young Horses in Warendorf today

This is not a stallion competition even though there are many highly frequented stallions among the participants, and also with many international top riders. Today’s comments immediately after each test was made by German national team coach Monica Theodorescu.

Among the 7 year old 14 combinations were selected, and the 14 combinations must be reduced to just 7 combinations. (NED 6, DEN 4, SWE 4). The final selection is 2nd July in Warendorf.

From today’s presentations and subsequent comments from German national team coach Monica Theodorescu, H2R dare to make THE list with the 7 combinations for WCYH today.

  • Bondeman / Betina Jæger Jensen - today’s most harmonious and effortless test, pure words of praise from Theodorescu.

  • D´avie / Severo Jurado Lopez - bit tension from start with the trot tour, beautiful frame, power and qualities in all three gaits including the demanding canter tour with both half pirouettes and series.

  • DSP Dominy / Therese Nilshagen - effortless and correct with three correct basis gaits showing nice elasticity and suppleness.

  • Fürst Donnerhall / Claudia Rassmann - beautiful picture, nice light uphill frame with good elasticity from behind.

  • Matchball OLD / Stefanie Wolf - well balanced, well trained and well presented.

  • Sisters Act OLD / Dorothee Schneider - very correct with good qualities.

  • Top Gear or Total Hope both with Isabel Freese for the final spot.

Missing from the list is Voile Rouge by Vitalis ridden by Isabel Freese, super expressive mare with power and three really good gaits, just a bit unbalanced for a few moments today, but showing huge potential.

Farrington by Fürstenball - Glock´s Romanov - sold to Dr. Kerstin Klieber and Ernst Kemper

Strong 2019 collection secured

Once again Dr. Kerstin Klieber from Dressurstall Sandbrink purchased a top foal. At the presentation the colt by Fürstenball / Glock´s Romanov showed himself with outstanding qualities, and Klieber secured herself the top colt in partnership with Ernst Kemper.

Klieber and Kemper has earlier successfully been partners with the stallions Fify-Fifty OLD and Fiderdance, and for this year Klieber is very satisfied that she already secured herself a very strong collection from this years foals.

VIDEOS - Individual podium for the Europeans of today

EC+2019.jpg

The European Championships in Rotterdam is just two month away, and why not make a small “today” prediction of the individual podium, as the absolute best three combinations just been out showing very strong performances.

Grand Prix Special at German Championship

Dorothee Schneider showed a top test yesterday with just an issue at the transition from passage to canter, where Showtime catch the wrong canter. For Werth and Bella Rose the GPS was not their day. Like for the Grand Prix Werth enters in counter canter with Bella Rose, but the centerline becomes a bit unbalanced, super trot tour with expressive half passes, good piaffe tours with super passage. Also for Werth and Bella Rose the transition to canter from passage became with transition to wrong canter, and at the short side before going into canter half passes Bella Rose loosing the canter, and when Werth continues at the diagonal starting the two times instead of canter half passes, she knew this was it for today and could of course only blame herself, and came 4th in the ranking. Gold in GPS for Showtime, Silver for Werth with Emilio and Bronze for Dalera BB.

Can anyone beat Werth with Bella Rose at a Championship?

At WEG Dujardin and Freestyle won a bronze medal - will they be able to climb the latter?

Showtime FRH back in business and ready for the podium?

Judge for yourself, but “today's “ podium from H2R is:

🥇Dujardin

🥈Schneider

🥉Werth

Grand Prix

Bolesworth - Charlotte Dujardin with Mount St. John Freestyle

Grand Prix Special

Balve - Dorothee Schneider with Showtime FRH

Grand Prix

Balve - Isabell Werth with Bella Rose

Carina Nevermann Torup og Soda Pop sørgede for Dannebrog til tops i Stockholm igen i dag

Carina Nevermann Torup og Soda Pop

Carina Nevermann Torup og Soda Pop

Løbende H2R kommentarer:

Carina Nevermann Torup og Soda Pop med flot trav tur, god skridt tur, i galoppen indløber der nogle spændinger i pirouetterne og koreografien bliver lidt urytmisk at følge i galopturen. Gode serier.

(7 - 69,600%).
