Beatrice Ferrer-Salat and Delgado with a strong CDI5 Grand Prix test in Madrid today

CDI5 Grand Prix from Madrid

H2R comments during the test:

Winner - Delgado ESP - smooth trot tour, half passes could show more suppleness in the body, easy smooth passage/piaffe/passage with nice transitions, bit short walk, 2nd piaffe small looking at the spectators but no disturb, good series, nice collected 1st pirouette, 2nd becomes very big, smooth rhythm for last piaffe could show bit more off the ground, nice final.

No 2 - Now CDI5 from Madrid, first to go Jose Antonio Garcia Mena with Benzi Landro - open halt, expressive extended trot, nice half passes, left bit unbalanced, expressive passage, good piaffe bit forward but nice sit and activity, lack bit clear flow into and out of piaffe, bit cautious extended walk, good series, nice zig-zag, bit big 1st pirouette but superb canter quality and sit, 2nd pirouette better centered, good final.

No 3 - Dragao LUX - good halt, good extended trot, nice uphill balanced half passes, good passage, bit tense piaffe but well managed, good walk lack bit more relaxation for extended walk, good collected walk, bit tense 2nd piaffe but stays nice on the spot, good transition to canter, ok 2 times need more uphill, bit swing 1 times, good pirouettes lack bit more clear canter flow, good final.

Timingen i top for Karoline Rohmann i arenaen i eftermiddag

Flotte skridtpirouetter.

PRESS RELEASE

The entry field for the CDI5* competition Saab Top 10 Dressage in Stockholm is now complete. And it is a star-studded list of riders. Swedish dressage queen Tinne Vilhelmson Silfvén gets a place and the wild cards go to Anna Zibrandtsen, Denmark, and Rose Mathisen, Sweden.

"I'm looking forward to go back to the incomparable Friends Arena. It's always special with the home crowd and the atmosphere there", says Tinne Vilhelmson Silfvén.

Anna Zibrandtsen is Denmark's new and upcoming star. The 23-year-old has several medals from the youth championships in dressage. This year she has entered the real international top level, including a team silver at the European Championship in Gothenburg. The breakthrough has come with beautiful 12-year-old stallion Arlando, who Zibrandtsen took over from Diederik van Silfhout, the Netherlands. With Van Silfhout in the saddle Arlando was placed eleven at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro last year.

With Rose Mathisen in the starting field, Sweden is represented by the entire EC bronze team at Sweden International Horse Show. 2017 has been a wonderful year for Mathisen, who among other victories won the Swedish Championship this summer.

Millennium or Vitalis? (videos)

No 43 by Vitalis / Johnson - photo credit: Petra Kerschbaum/PFERDENEWS

Which one of the top stallions will be the Champion tomorrow

After today´s presentation free and with free jumping the overall picture is very clear for most of the stallions.

Still oustanding no 43 by Vitalis / Johnson co-owned by Helen Langehanenberg - picture above speaks for itself, but said that no 37 by Millennium / Lord Loxley impresses everyone with his powerful elegance, sharp round hindlegs, lots of freedom from the shoulders, always balanced uphill frame and impressive 175 cm.

No 43 from today´s presentation free:

No 37 from today´s presentation free:

Also the other Vitalis boy no 42 with Dancier as damsire was showing lovely balance and suppleness today. Like no 23 by Flanell / Laurentio with superb balance, push from behind and lovely expressive frontlegs.

More "siblings" and one or two "forgotten"

It is actually nice with "just" 45 stallions for the main licensing, and still the number could have been reduced to 40 when watching the entire collection.

In many ways the NRW licensing commision were nice sharp, but there were a couple of decisions which seems a bit out of the line.

From H2R opinion there was no need to take both Apache sons as no 1 with Hotline was clearly more well developed and expressive as a stallion. The same fact with the two For Romance I sons, as no 26 with Fürst Nymphenburg yesterday showed some odd steps hind for the lunging, and this was the same picture for today. No 27 with Lauries Crusador xx as damsire was the one to select. And again with 2 x Goldberg selected where the one with Damon Hill damsire was best.

"Forgotten"

Two Franklin sons were presented and non of them licensed! From watching the pre-selection and now the licensing no 28 with Rubin-Royal as damsire showing a lot of power, lightness and elasticity in his movements and with a well developed body -  for sure a stallion for both breeding and sport.

From H2R point of view no 7 by Damon Hill/Dimension was also missing at the list with the licensed stallions. Not a top modern stallion, but very expressive and supple off the ground mover.

Successful auction Van Olst Horses

NEWS at Van Olst Horses

Den Hout – Saturday evening 18 November was the big evening of our Autumn Auction, organized by Van Olst Sales. On the grounds of ”Van Olst Horses” in Den Hout, 25 2,5-year old horses were sold this evening. The auction collection consisted mainly unbroken geldings and a couple of unbroken mares, all descended from ”Van Olst” stallions. Apart from for this group of young horses, there was a wild card for the ster prok mare Cilenka K (in foal to Painted Black). Cilenka K (Lord Leatherdale) was sold for €20.000,- and will leave one of these days to sunny California (USA).

The other young (born 2015) unbroken horses brought an average price of €14.000,- with ”Kayenne M” (Glamourdale x San Brentano) as an exception. This excellent daughter of Glamourdale was sold for €35.000,- and was the best priced horse of the evening.

We can look back on a very successful edition of our Autumn Auction, with a nice and international audience, which was offered very high quality horses. Now we will focus on the next ”Van Olst Sales”. The collection for this upcoming Spring Auction is already coming together and seems very promising. In this spring auction, which will take place on 30 March 2018, the focus will be on ridden horses.
