FEI WBFSH Dressage World Breeding Championship for Young Horses cancelled

Post at Facebook today

The FEI WBFSH Dressage World Breeding Championship for Young Horses should have taken place in Verden from December 9th to 13th. The best five-, six- and seven-year-old horses from all over the world were to compete there. But it is precisely the international nature of the Championships that makes it impossible to hold it. „A few weeks ago additional measures were added to the event protocol for the FEI WBFSH Dressage World Breeding Championships for Young Horses by the FEI and the Organising Committee, in an attempt to further mitigate the risks of the Covid-19 virus. Further to several meetings between the FEI, WBFSH and the OC and despite the updated mitigation plan, the regrettable decision was made that the best and only option, in the face of the pandemic, is to cancel the event. While we are sad that this championship, that is one of the highlights of the year, will not take place, we understand and fully support this decision”, explains Jan Pedersen, President of the World Breeding Federation of Sport Horses (WBFSH).

PRESS RELEASE

Münster: 25 stallions with dressage pedigrees were for sale on Monday evening. For the first time the auction was held as an OnLive auction. The champion stallion by Fair Game aroused the highest desires. He changed hands for 800,000 Euros. On average, the international clientele invested 143,432 Euros in the stallions.

The stallion sales of the dressage stallions ended the first two licensing days at the Westfälisches Pferdestammbuch e.V. on Monday evening. With a top price of 800,000 Euros, the champion stallion of this year's licensing left the auction hall. The son of Fair Game/Destano (breeder: Konrad Mensch, Erolheim; exhibitor: Joachim Scherer, Neunkirchen-Seelscheid) impressed not only the licensing commission. In an exciting bidding duel, customers from Denmark, who bid on site, secured the stunning black moving artist. With rhythm and energy the stallion showed himself in the arena even this evening. The 1st Reserve Champion also aroused great desire. The Diamond Deluxe/Lissaro son (breeder and exhibitor: Wilhelm Rüscher-Konnermann, Greven) was the favorite of customers who bid online for a long time. In the end, two strong customers found themselves in the hall fighting for the pretty bay. For 600,000 euros, he too will move to a box in Denmark. The 2nd reserve champions cost 172,000 Euro (head number 1) and 226,000 Euro (head number 15). Eight stallions broke the 100,000 Euro barrier.

The OnLive auction system was tested for the first time with HORSE 24 GmbH at the stallion sales. "We are very satisfied with the course of the auction. Everything worked out well so that the customers were able to bid live on site as well as at home on the screens without any problems", auction manager Thomas Münch is pleased to report. A total of 25 stallions were for sale. Among them the Champion Stallion, the Reserve Champion and the two 2nd Reserve Champion Stallions. A further five premium stallions were offered for sale. Four of the offered stallions were not licensed. On average, the international clientele invested 143,432 Euros in the 22 stallions sold. Four bids were won online. Half of the stallions will have their new homes outside of Germany.

The young stallions were ready for their final day at 35-days performance test today

For the last day at the performance test the young stallions were ridden by test rider Allan Grøn. All the stallions were fresh, motivated and good condition. All stallions with more than a total score of minimum 800 points are invited for the main licensing, between 700-800 points the stallion has passed the test and can be invited for the main licensing. (Here you find more information about the rules)

For the absolute top we saw 4 stallions, all 4 owned by Helgstrand Dressage:

Performance test winner My Vitality by Vitalis / D-Day, bred in the Netherlands. Throughout the testing and also from former appearances My Vitality showed his super supple gaits in a nice balance and not least with a mindset made for dressage.

Placed 2nd Iron by Asgard´s Ibiza / Hohenstein, bred by Nedergaard Dressage 🇩🇰. Quick and easy of the ground always in the right angle from behind, showing great expression and very nice contact and self carriage.

3rd Rockabye S by Revolution / Belstaff, bred by Flemming Schultz 🇩🇰. Super well moving, supple and obedient showing good power.

Also the stallion In My Mind by Asgard´s Ibiza / Fidermark from Helgstrand Dressage has been doing the Danish Warmblood performance test. He showed super attitude with quality gaits and developed nicely.

From test rider Allan Grøn it was a great experience testing testing the young stallions again. “It was really nice being back in the saddle of the young stallions. I also did the mid way testing and of course it was an advantage that I knew each stallion before today, and for me both the mid way test and today’s final test provides the basis for each scoring. The testing it is of course always a challenge, and for me it´s about things like how does the horse carry you, the self carriage of the horse, the contact, the balance and of course the regularity of the gaits, and not least that I can try to make the frame a bit larger being able to get the feeling of the potential,” tells Allan Grøn.

This years OLD licensing showed again a very attractive top

Common for all the stallions in the top besides three good supple gaits, was that they were clearly showing a very positive attitude during the three presentations. All the time they stayed attentive and responding positively to the different tasks, which also was mentioned at the premium presentation of each stallion.

Reserve Champion available at Online Auction

Reserve Champion (no 49) stood out with his always positive power attitude. He is by For Dance / Blue Hors Zack / Diamond Hit is now available at the online auction running from 7 pm today until Sunday at 6 pm.

Here you find the current videos of no 49 from the licensing:

Huge success for Danish breeders Alexandra and Søren Buchreitz

The chestnut stallion by Vitalis / L´Espoir / De Noir, named Vayron Hena was born as a star from day one, always good looking and well moving, and he also developed nicely over the years.

The dam of Vayron is Danish Warmblood silver medal mare China Skovvang. She is out of a very strong Danish Warmblood dam line, and is one of Alexandra´s riding horses and currently successful at S-level.

Today the dream really came through, not only a licensed stallion, but among the absolut top stallions rewarded as a Oldenburger Premium stallion.

H2R "hot" list after today's presentation on hard surface and lunging at OLD stallion licensing

Screen+Shot+2020-11-20+at+12.53.24.jpg

Beautiful mid day in Vechta started at 1 pm with presentation at hard surface.

Many very attractive young stallions showing modern types and with beautiful conformation for the presentation at the hard surface, but like every single stallion presentation the real selection takes place when you get the chance to see the stallion in the lungeline, here you see the balance, the suppleness, the self carriage and the contact.

🇩🇰The three “Danish” stallions did show themselves with good qualities unfortunately the Sezuan / Sandro Hit son looked a bit tense and not so comfortable by today’s lunging, while the Franklin / Sezuan was well balanced all the way. The Vitalis / L´Espoir showed himself a bit to fresh by the lunging but still with good balance and power.

The best presentations from today’s lunging were:

  • 37 Bonds / Quaterback (not for sale)

  • 40 Champagner / Wolkentanz

  • 36 Bernay / Desperados (not for sale)

  • 41 De Niro Gold / Sir Donnerhall I (lack of more steady round connection to the bridle)

  • 49 For Dance / Zack

  • 54 Franklin / Sezuan (not for sale)

  • 56 Fürstenball / Sandro Hit (not for sale)

  • 65 Vitalis / L´Espoir (not for sale)

  • 67 Vivaldi / De Niro

Tomorrow at 11 am the presentation free start with subsequent announcement of premium stallions and champion stallion.

Another top rideable Sezuan offspring

Final score for the 2020 premium stallion from South German stallion licensing Shu Fu by Sezuan / Fürst Heinrich / Weltmeier with 8,84. For the canter the judges rewarded Shu Fu with a 10 and from today’s test rider Phillip Hess Shu Fu was scored 9,5 - it really looked like a pleasent ride, easy in the contact, nice self carriage and attentive for the riders aides.

Shu Fu is available for breeding at Landgestüt Celle.

Second chance used well - Six dressage horses changed owners online

3 Belmore by Belissimo M/Fidertanz - photo credit: Reckimedia

PRESS RELEASE

Münster: For the first time the Westphalian Pferdestammbuch e.V. organized a "Second Chance Auction". The horses initially sold at the 60th Elite Auction in October were not paid by their new owners. Now they were auctioned off for the second time and all of them were successfully sold. The most expensive offer was Belmore by Belissimo M/Fidertanz who sold for 33,500 Euros. In total the six dressage horses achieved a turnover of 134,000 Euros.

It was a successful second chance for those who were initially not able to win the bid for their auction favorite in October.  At the 60th Westphalian Elite Auction, a customer from Russia had purchased six dressage horses that he was unable to pay for afterwards. After consulting the exhibitors of the auction horses, the Westfälisches Pferdestammbuch e.V. decided to auction these horses again. In an online auction this evening all six future stars for the dressage arena were sold. As in October, Belmore by Belissimo M/Fidertanz (breeder: ZG Goeke, Hamm) received the highest knockdown price of these horses. The three-year-old gelding, who is still at the very beginning of his dressage career, convinced with three very good basic gaits. He was worth 33,500 Euros to customers from the USA. His licensed full brother is already highly successful in advanced (S) level dressage competitions. Among the four mares, Bella Schoccolina aroused the highest desires. The Benicio daughter (breeder: Norbert Horstmann, Lüdinghausen), who was also bred out of a dam by Fidertanz, changed hands for 25,500 Euros. The bay not only has the same dam's sire as Belmore. Both originate from the same mare line. The mothers of the price peaks are full siblings.

"Obviously the course of the first sale of the horses was not optimal. In spite of several personal contacts with the buyer even before the horses were knocked down, we were unable to receive payment," says auction and marketing manager Thomas Münch. "We try to check the registered bidders in advance as best we can. A certain risk is however always present with an auction. So we are now glad that the exhibitors have continued to place their trust in us and that we could auction off the horses again. Both the exhibitors and the Westfälisches Pferdestammbuch e.V. are very satisfied with the prices achieved. "A very solid price structure was shown today. Four horses could even achieve a higher kncokdown price today than in October", Thomas Münch concludes the experiment of the first "Second Chance Auction" with satisfaction. The small but fine lot of the six dressage horses aroused great desire. Especially the interest from abroad was very high. All six buyers live outside of Germany - two of them in France, two in Switzerland. In total, the six horses generated a total turnover of 134,000 Euros. The customers invested an average of 22,333 Euros for their dressage offspring.
