Vitalis was the favorite for today's final, and together with Isabel Bache he just delivered an outstanding 79.220% victory in the Nürnberger Burg-Pokal final.
But the victory was not an easy victory, when Ingrid Klimke just delivered a great performance with the stallion Franziskus and scored 77.634% - the task for Freese & Vitalis was clear, it had to be a flawless and high quality test.
Dressage judge Christoph Hess had taken place in the commentator chair in the arena, and gave each combination super nice comments along the way. Isabel Bache and Vitalis was clearly in a league of their own, and also got great comments from Hess. Isabel was among others praised for presenting Vitalis optimally without asking for more than possible, always with ears peaked and ready for the next exercise, and in full harmony with his rider - "das war reiten vom most feinsten - das war vorbildlich", said Christoph Hess.
For the subsequent interview with Clipmyhorse tells Isabel Freese that she was really nervous today, because she knew what Klimke and Franziskus delivered, but Vitalis just gave her safety along the way. Freese describes Vitalis as the most amazing horse she has ever ridden. He always plays with and is 100% concentrated about the work, even if he was going to hack with a small white pony mare, he would do it without showing off or saying anything.
Holga Finken comes once a week and gives lessons for half a day to Isabel and "her horses", including of course Vitalis. In addition comes Morten Thomsen also once a month for two days, where the horses are worked by hand and where he also gives lessons. And for the question about the best treat for Vitalis - "it's apples, and he preferes Paul's private apples" tells a big smiling Isabel Freese.
In Denmark there will be about 30 offspring in 2017 from Vitalis, but he has already been very busy this year world wide, tell co-owner Lone Bøegh Henriksen.
