Sezuan has placed Danish Warmblood on the world map
Her Royal Highness Princess Benedikte’s Challenge Trophy was awarded to the The Danish Warmblood stallion Sezuan this year. The stallion’s German owners had come all the way to Herning, Denmark to receive this special award which is always handed over as part of the gala show on Saturday night during the National Stallion Show & Herning Horse Show.
Since his first appearance as 3-year-old at the Danish Warmblood stallion licensing in Herning Sezuan by Blue Hors Zack/Blue Hors Don Schufro has made the headlines. The now 8-year-old stallion, bred by Linette Jæger, has not only been the best dressage stallion of his year group in Danish Warmblood but also the topnotch far beyond the Danish borders.
Sezuan has been conceived at Andreas Helgstrand who then sold the pregnant mare and bought back the black colt foal. As a 4-year-old he sold to the German couple Arlette Jasper-Kohl and professor Edwin Kohl who have entrusted the German dressage rider Dorothee Schneider to train the talented stallion. This cooperation has produced outstanding results, and Sezuan is now the first and so far only horse in the world to have won the world championships for young dressage horses three times: at the age of 5, 6 and 7 years.
Hence, Sezuan has contributed to put Danish Warmblod in focus as one of the leading studbooks in the world.
Dorothee Schneider who was also the test rider in the young horse championships in Herning had brought along Sezuan to the stallion licensing in order to participate in the magical gala show accompanied by the Danish singer Julie Berthelsen.
