The French Olympic combination Pierre Volla and his expressive chestnut mare Badinda Altena won today´s CDIO Grand Prix at Hickstead. They delivered an expressive test, with lightness and good qualities. Just a small issue for the one times where a couple of changes are with parallel hind legs. Score 72,700%.
Placed 4th Nintendo and Charlotte Jorst showed a very solid test without any technical issues. High lights were passage / piaffe / passage tours, easy transitions and nice activity. 70.880%
Placed 6th former British team member Emma Hindle showed her 11 yr old mare Romy del Sol by Romanov. Emma competed Romy del Sol at twice events earlier this year. At Joosland in April where they made their international debut and again lately at Hartpury. Romy del Sol is a nice moving, expressive mare without any exercise weaknesses. Today they show an error free test, with some smaller issue with a bit of tensions for the entering halt, tensions hind after 1 time series and a bit stocked into the 2nd canter pirouette. Nice light contact and looks like Emma exactly know how much she can ask for by the piaffe tours, as all were with a bit of forward tendency. Final score 70.700%.
Placed 10th. Danish Ulrik Mølgaard with Michigan show a very nice test. Lovely power trot tour, nice contact with a lovely foaming mouth. Nice swing for trot half passes, good halt with rein back, good passage, lack a bit more clear flow in and out of the piaffe, and the piaffe becomes a bit quiet, but clear in the rhythm. Disapointing placement, but yet again today there were huge disagreement from the international judging panel - placement 2-16-5-12-19. From H2R point of view a clear placement into top 5!
