Dufour, Fry and Merrald took the “podium” for today’s CDI3 Grand Prix Special at Compiégne
The young ladies with strong performances and today with advantage for Danish Cathrine Dufour.
It is for sure about timing being able to top perform at this level, and watching Dufour and her way of guiding her young just 9 year old gelding Vamos Amigos by Vitalis / Blue Hors Hotline, owned by Sarah Pidgley is impressive. It is a very sharp line between the highest degree of collection and not showing tensions. Today Dufour managed to show Vamos Amigos in a beautiful test and if you for a few moments were in doubt if Dufour would manage to keep the high level and qualities, you just have to watch her being able to show softness and lightness in order to keep Vamos relaxed and still maintain the power and expression - masterly performance today. “I’m very happy with Vamos today it really paid off as my test sticked to the plan”, told Dufour.
Fry and Everdale were once again on positive fire together with another top performance today, the only thing from their test was 11 one times at the centerline and their final piaffe with a bit of resistance.
Blue Hors Zack was not as motivated as we’ve seen him recently together with Nanna Merrald. During their test they perform some really solid quality work but for the piaffe tours Nanna was struggling a bit to keep the big stallion motivated and forward thinking.
Elvive and Lyndal Oatley showed a super nice test, small tensions, lots of power, and an error for the 1 times. Lovely to have Lyndal back in top of the sport with such a lovely expressive power mare.
New international combination - a very experienced pair just not together. This weekend for the first time entering the international arena. They look like a great combination and Minderhoud seems to click very nicely with the Danish Warmblood stallion Glock´s Zonik N.O.P. unfortunately with costly mistakes for both one time tempi series today.
