PRESS RELEASE
Hagen a.T.W. visits the land of the maple leaf
Hagen a.T.W. — Canada is often called the country of superlatives and especially the great hospitality and friendliness of the people is often praised. Who has not heard of the "Mounties" or Royal Canadian Mounted Police? Experts say that Canada was built on the back of horses through the way ranchers lived on farms — many Canadians therefore also have a close relationship with horses. This and much more makes the North American State the perfect partner country for Horses & Dreams 2022.
"Canada has been on our wish list for a long time, equestrian sport is very important there and has a long tradition. Spruce Meadows is the largest equestrian facility in the world and hosts one of the world's most renowned horse shows every year. In addition, our long-time friend and ringmaster Pedro Cebulka lives there," organiser Francois Kasselmann explains how the new partner country was chosen.
From 20 to 24 April, Hof Kasselmann in Hagen a.T.W. will be themed around the maple leaf and will offer the opportunity to get to know Canadian art, culture and culinary highlights. Of course, the focus will also be on top-class dressage and jumping. Horses & Dreams is traditionally the first show of the German outdoor season and therefore always a 'must' in the calendar of Europe's best riders. 2022 is also the year of the World Championships, many combinations will probably want to stake their claim for a place in the team of their respective nation with a good result in Hagen a.T.W.. Horses & Dreams is also the first stop for well-known equestrian series such as the BEMER Riders Tour for show jumpers as well as the Louisdor Prize and Nürnberger Burg Pokal for dressage riders. Top-class sport and exciting decisions are therefore guaranteed.
Optimistic event planning
Francois Kasselmann and his team remain full of confidence in their planning: "We are looking forward to and planning for a Horses & Dreams event in the usual way. If necessary, however, we will have to allow for changes to the left and to the right. A concrete number of spectators will be based on the current guidelines in force in April 2022. Horses & Dreams is an outdoor event and so we hope for the best possible attendance."
The spacious grounds at the Borgberg and the open grandstands, for example, allow for the best conditions to ensure compliance with spacing regulations and ventilation. The health and safety of visitors and participants are paramount. A corresponding hygiene concept will be drawn up in consultation with the municipality and the district in due course.
