The big tour championship became really exciting for the Grand Prix yesterday, as Emmelie Scholtens was back with KWPN stallion Desperado. They haven´t been showing since Aachen last year due to an injury for Desperado and a baby break for Emmelie. They showed a strong Grand Prix and brought themself into the top of the field just in front of Hermes and Dinja van Liere. And Emmelie also showed her young stallion Indian Rock with a great performance in the Grand Prix and really interesting for the future.
As Desperado was Emmelie´s obvious first horse for the championships, Indian Rock was ready for the small final (Grand Prix Special), but unfortunately Desperado was not fit to compete for today´s Grand Prix freestyle. A very unfortunate situation for Emmelie and the Dutch team, as it might be a goodbye for the World Championships in Herning in August.
The champion 2022 was well deserved Hermes and Dinja. They showed a strong freestyle and with 4,5% ahead for Thamar Zweista with Hexagon´s Ich Weiss, and with Danish Warmblood Tørveslettens Titanium and Marieke van der Putten on bronze position. Must be first time ever with a Danish Warmblood at the podium at the Dutch Championships.
Dinja van Liere (Uden) – Hermès (v. Easy Game), 77,956%-83,155% 161,111
Thamar Zweistra (Schore) - Hexagon's Ich Weiss (v. Rubiquil), 73,304%-78,670% 151,974
Marieke van der Putten (Apeldoorn) - Tørveslettens Titanium RS2 (v. Totilas), 73,978%-77,950% 151,928
ZZ-zwaar (small tour) championship with super qualities
Interesting to watch the up-coming horses with top riders. Winner became Bart Veeze with Kyton by Ferguson.
But runner up was Marieke van der Putten with a very interesting son of Glamourdale, Kuvasz RS2 (dam sire De Niro), a super nice truly copy of Glamourdale with lots of power, expression and qualities. Only the half pirouettes in canter is lacing bit more balance.
Bronze medal for Renate van Uytert with Johnny Deep.
Diederik van Silfhout with the super nice son of Dante Weltino, Dante U.S. out of same dam line as Total US. Today placed 2nd, but just outside the podium for the total score.
