A huge list of 4 year old and 5 year old stallions ready for 2-day sport test in Münster-Handorf
A quick view of the list shows some very interesting young stallions, such as Escamillo with Timo Kolbe and Tesla with Helen Langehanenberg. Tesla did his 14-days test last year in Schlieckau with a very disappointing result in dressage with just 7,71. Just an outstanding stallion from the NRW licensing and for sure one the keep an eye on with owner Langehanenberg in the saddle.
Among the 5 year old the Helgstrand Dressage stallion Jovian with Eva Möller in the saddle will for sure be interesting to follow. They came 2nd in the prestigious Pavo Cup in 2018.

Most expensive stallion sold for 300.000 euros to Max-Theurer at DSP auction yesterday
Gestüt Pallerhaff with super mare as reserve champion at DSP mare championship today
Proud breeder and owner Jens Thorsen with Sonnerie Souveraine - private photo.
10 sports mares selected for the final at the 2nd mare championship in Munich
Among them was the now 4 year old mare Sonnerie Souveraine by Sezuan / Silvermoon, bred and owned by Luxemburg based Danish Jens Thorsen, Gestüt Pallerhaff. Sonnerie Souveraine became reserve champion today at the DSP mare show.
Back in August 2018 Sonnerie Souveraine became champion mare at the elite mare show at Landgestüt Zeibrücken.
Out of the same Silvermoon mare Thorsen has a successful full brother, now 5 year old Spectre which last year became both Landespferdechampion, reserve champion at South German Riding horse championships and bronze winner at the Bundeschampionate in Warendorf under Kristine Møller, Gestüt Pallerhaff.
Sommelie Souveraine looks like a very special mare bringing three top gaits and a very elegant type, for sure an interesting mare also for breeding. From H2R point of view the champion mare today.
“Sommelie is just very lightly ridden, and showing super nice qualities for the future, but we (rider Kristine Møller) has no hurry starting her education, and the plans for now is to try to do embryo transfers in the spring,” tells Jens Thorsen.
FEI PRESS RELEASE - Werth and Weihegold are untouchable in Amsterdam
Four-time series champion, Germany’s Isabell Werth, stamped her authority all over the opposition with another superb win at the eighth leg of the FEI Dressage World Cup™ 2018/2019 Western European League in Amsterdam (NED) today riding Weihegold OLD. (FEI/Arnd Bronkhorst)
Germany dominates podium with Schneider in second and Langehanenberg in third
Four-time series champion, Isabell Werth (49) from Germany, stamped her authority all over the opposition with another superb win at the eighth leg of the FEI Dressage World Cup™ 2018/2019 Western European League in Amsterdam (NED) today.
Having lifted the trophy for the last two years, Werth is automatically qualified for the 2019 Final in Gothenburg (SWE) in April. Her only task throughout the season is to compete twice with the horse with which she intends to defend her title, and after winning in Lyon (FRA) with Emilio and stealing the show in Stuttgart (GER) with Bella Rose, she showed just how spoiled she is for choice when coming out on top once more today, this time with the brilliant mare Weihegold OLD who carried her to victory in both 2017 and 2018.
The most medalled athlete in equestrian sport, who is targeting her fifth title and her third in a row, was delighted with Weihegold’s performance this afternoon, especially following some unexpected shenanigans on their way to pole position in yesterday’s Grand Prix.
"Today she was much more calm - yesterday she did the first part of the test nicely, but she really turned it on in the canterwork and we couldn’t manage the two-tempis! Today she was much more cool. The thing about her is that sometimes she just wants it all too much - but this is a mistake I can live with!"
Isabell Werth (GER)
On a day of total German domination, her compatriots Dorothee Schneider (49) riding Sammy Davis Jr and Helen Langehanenberg (36) partnering Damsey FRH finished second and third, while fourth place went to popular Swede, Patrik Kittel (42) with Delauney OLD. Schneider has now moved to the head of the Western European League leaderboard from which the top nine will qualify for the Final.
Langehanenberg, series champion in 2013, set the first half of the competition alight with a technically tough but superbly executed Freestyle from the 17-year-old Damsey who was with her every inch of the way to take the lead with a score of 82.440 that would not be easy to catch. Denmark’s Daniel Bachmann Andersen posted 80.400 with the lovely 11-year-old stallion Blue Hors Don Olymbrio, but the pair who topped the previous leg in Mechelen (BEL) last month, The Netherlands’ Hans Peter Minderhoud and Glock’s Dream Boy NOP, squeezed them out of temporary second spot when putting 81.380 on the board.
And then, with four left to go, Schneider’s Sammy Davis Jr swaggered his way to the top of the scoreboard with a brilliant test that included spectacular trot-work and perfect passage. Their mark of 82.675 was now the one to beat, and Kittel came close when Delaunay OLD was awarded 82.440 for a very difficult floorplan, while the penultimate partnership of Judy Reynolds and Vancouver K danced their way to 80.290. On a day of competition that was of championship standard this would slot her into seventh place and set a new Irish international record score, so her support crew were already celebrating as she left the arena.
Last in however, Werth and Weihegold were in a league of their own, the mare producing a near-seamless test that clearly demonstrated her extraordinary skills and those of her truly exceptional rider. “She was full of focus and motivation today - really fantastic”, the German legend said of her horse whose beautiful big ears were standing to attention all the way through their test.
Werth plans to do both of the two remaining Western European League qualifiers, on home ground at Neumunster (GER) in three weeks time and ’s-Hertogenbosch (NED) in March, giving both Emilio and Weihegold another outing each. And she’s really looking forward to the Final in Gothenburg.
It’s 27 years since she won her first FEI Dressage World Cup™ title in that same Swedish city in 1992, “and it’s very special to go back, I always really love going there because it’s a fantastic show!” she said today. But, typically modest, she wouldn’t be drawn on the prospect of posting that fifth series success.
"I would never say I’m going there to win - I’ve been doing this job for a long time now and you never know what’s going to happen. You know me, I always like to keep both feet on the ground!!"

Even with errors for the two times Weihegold OLD and Isabell Werth are just collecting so many 8,0, 8,5 and 9,0 marks and then also with room for weaker extensions and half passes, and then today again with more times 10 for the final. At the same time the sharpness is for a split second lost towards the final halt, as if Weihe said “can I stop now?”, but at same time Isabell just ask Weihe to keep on to finish the job - It´s all about the timing.
For both Schneider and Langehanenberg it was not their best performances, both with minor errors.
Dream Boy and Minderhoud showing an overall sharp test with a few minor things. Halt with rein back with 6 steps backwards, small tension at the end of the extended walk when Minderhoud is picking up the reins Dream Boy is ready, and with an error at the end of the one times. Very nice final and the stallion showing so much elasticity all the way. From kiss and cry Gal is showing Minderhoud to smile - this was a really nice test.
Delaunay OLD with Kittel has really settled at the top level delivering +75% and today without exception.
Best test ever from now 17 year old Vancouver K and Judy Reynolds, in terms of the piaffe tours, as they are often from H2R point of view shown as 100% controlled tension, today with very nice qualities.
Blue Hors Don Olymbrio with Daniel Bachmann Andersen showed a strong test, unfortunately something dangerous showed up in the corner at K, but Daniel managed very well except from at few spooky moments which of course was reflected at the scoreboard. “Expect for the “interesting” part, I’m very happy about his development,” says Daniel.
H2R comments during the test: Blue Don Olymbrio DEN - good halt, super extension, nice flow go for half passes good crossing, bit open halt super nice rein back, nice transitions, lack bit energy for piaffe but keeps the rhythm nicely, good passage, good walk tour, 2nd piaffe 15 steps and out bit tension from Don O but stays, nice transition to canter, big big eyes for the corner, nice big 2 times, lost canter after extended canter in the dangerous corner but did change, bit unbalanced zig-zag, Daniel attacks the 1 times successful (towards the dangerous corner), good pirouettes, good extended trot towards K, super smooth final centerline.

The dream of the next super star - the full sister of Danish Warmblood stallion Sezuan
Bo Brink, Selina Solberg Vittinghus with Napfes Faa Ipoipo and Merete Berg Sørensen
It started with the purchase of an embryo in utero
Nafea Faa Ipoipo (“When do you want to get married”) was purchased as an embryo in utero back in 2014, and for the Danish breeders Merete Berg Sørensen and Bo Brink (Netstutteriet) back then it was with huge excitement and of course the dream as a breeder. The way from the purchase of the embryo to the foal being born, and now having a 4 year old beautiful and talented mare with the most exciting bloodlines has made the dream come true.
Last year Nafea proved herself as a broodmare as she had a fantastic embryo foal by Franklin, sold for the top price of 121.000 euros at Danish Warmblood Elite Foal auction to Helgstrand Dressage.
Experienced and successful young horse rider
Nafea is now 4 year old and ready for starting her education. The breeders has already been working together with Selina Solberg Vittinghus (rider at Stud Atterupgaard) with some other young horses, and for about 1,5 year ago Selina purchased a part of Danish Warmblood mare Netstutteriets Donna Mi by Blue Hors Don Schufro/Come Back II, a cooperation which Merete and Bo really appreciate, so the choice of the rider for the future education of Nafea was quite obvious.
Breeder Merete Berg Sørensen and Bo Brink tells: “We think that Selina is really unique for the education of the young horses, and with her great work with Donna Mi the decision was clear when thinking about the best future for Nafea. Selina has been riding Nafea since 1 December and she is very excited about her. We have Nafea stabled at the equestrian center Slangerupgaard where Merete is manager, and there we have all facilities for building up the young horse. And when Selina is training Nafea Merete is drive her to Stud Atterupgaard.
It is of course our plan to flush embryos from Nafea while she is being educated under Selina, and hopefully she will be successful in the sport as her brother (Sezuan) and sisters (Straight Horse Sezuanna and Straight Horse Ascenzione) - we are very excited about this future combination and hope for a lot of great experiences,” Merete and Bo says.
An extraordinary horse
For Selina as a rider it is of course another great opportunity to get the ride of a mare like Nafea. Alongside her job as rider for the very well known and successful Danish Stud Atterupgaard, Selina has been riding both Netstutteriet Donna Mi and a couple of other horses for Merete and Bo, and through this collaboration Selina is full of excitement for Nafea.
As Selina tells: “Nafea is a special horse, she has not been ridden that much yet, I’ve had her under saddle since December , and I really get the feeling that she brings something extra. For now its all about building her slowly up, and hopefully she will be ready for Danish Warmblood Young Horse ability test this autumn, with the big goal World Championship for Young Horses in 2020.”

Tomorrow with DSP licensing - very interesting collection of stallion - full live stream via Clipmyhorse
39 young quality stallions selected for DSP licensing - 23/26 January in München-Riem (NEWS publish 30 December 2018)
Very interesting stallion prospects ready for licensing
Very positive watching the entire collection ready for the licensing. The not so frequented stallion Buckingham (Bordeaux/Rousseau) has 3 offsprings selectedfor the licensing, all 3 showing very nice qualities.
H2R picked 7 super interesting stallions, but definitely with more very interesting stallions from the collection.
Remember you can follow the entire licensing live via Clipmyhorse.
No 38 - looks like a clear premium stallion and top price for the auction.
No 42 - lovely type with super natural power and super canter.
No 43 - elasticity and expression, even though he is not showing any canter. Superb supple angle from behind.
No 50 - super lovely model with suppleness and expression pure.
No 56 - nice supple mover, but need some “rebuild” of the muscles. Interesting to see the development.
No 58 - impressive stallion showing lots of power and expression.
No 72 - super supple both hind and front, but the back is definitely only for a 16” saddle.

Sezuan will not be available for the breeders in 2019 - full focus on further education
Sezuan and Patrik Kittel during Danish Warmblood stallion show 2018 - photo credit: H2R
How is Sezuan doing?
Since the spring 2018 we haven’t heard anything about the Danish Warmblood top stallion Sezuan himself. And of course a lot of people and breeders are keen to know a bit from this top producer himself.
“Sezuan is doing very well, he is in training with Patrik Kittel, and this year he will not do the stallion show in Denmark.
Sezuan is not gonna do the demanding double job for both sport and breeding, we want him to fully concentrate for the further dressage education, and he will therefore only be available via frozen semen in 2019. A decision that we do not find easy, but which is certainly in the interests of the stallion”, says Gestüt Peterhof.
