CDI4 Grand Prix in Hamburg

Hamburg with victory for favorite Frederic Wandres with Duke of Britain showing a strong effortless test all the way except the first pirouette where he lost the balance out.

CDI3 Grand Prix München-Riem

München-Riem with Jessica von Bredow-Werndl and Zaire E just in front of Benjamin Werndl with Daily Mirror and Matthias Bouten 3rd with Meggle Boston.

Jessica showing a strong test without any technical issues, the piaffe tours becomes very forward travelling.

Placed as no 6 with “just” 70% is Dorothee Schneider with Sammy Davis Jr. Today something very dangerous came up at C, wether it was the flower or the cameraman under the umbrella next to the judging house at C you could not see, but the entire trot tour was affected by tension and spinning before halt at C, the canter tour went well until the 1st pirouette where it looks like Sammy is misunderstanding the signals from Dorothee and keep on trying to do a pirouette in counter canter.

Isabell Werth and Emilio was at the start list but did not show.

Daniel Bachmann Andersen and Blue Hors Don Olymbrio during CDI4 in Herning 2019

Daniel Bachmann Andersen and Blue Hors Don Olymbrio during CDI4 in Herning 2019

Strong performances for the Danish team today with two combinations for Grand Prix freestyle, Agnete Kirk Thinggaard with Jojo AZ and Carina Cassøe Krüth with May-Day Graftebjerg, and two riders for Grand Prix Special Cathrine Dufour with Bohemian and Daniel Bachmann Andersen with Blue Hors Don Olymbrio.

All four combinations showed stronger tests today than for the Grand Prix.

Cathrine Dufour and Bohemian showed a strong test, much better form throughout the test which also shows that he is getting stronger, and when still think of him as just 9 year old, it is just amazing. Small tensions for the first two piaffe tours and lost the balance a bit out of 2nd pirouette - 76,745%.

Sweden Therese Nilshagen and Dante Weltino OLD showed their best test ever (not from the scoreboard). Super power and suppleness for the trot tour trending 81%, bit hurried extended walk, the piaffe tours lack bit more clear rhythm and flow out in to passage, super strong canter tour, nice flow, huge sit for both pirouettes - 77,362%.

Daniel Bachmann Andersen and Blue Hors Don Olymbrio knocking seriously at the Grand Prix Special +80% door. No technical issues, even better and more controlled pirouettes today, small tension for 1st piaffe, huge control, fully between hand, seat and legs all the way and starting with 78% from the entering halt and kept this level all the way - 78.809%

Very pleased Danish team coach

Danish team coach Nathalie zu Sayn-Wittgenstein was very pleased with the entire team, and of course happy and proud winning the team competition on home soil.

In two weeks the Danish national championship comes up, and after the championship the selection for Nordic Baltic Championship ( 26 - 30 June) at Vilhelmsborg, DEN and for CHIO Aachen (17 - 21 July) will take place.

Last to go for the final qualifier today at Redefin and showing a smooth supple test without any technical issues. Super well balanced trot tour, good walk tour and super canter with lovely sit for both canter pirouettes and very straight and high quality series.

Farrington Pilekær by Franklin - Sir Donnerhall I - De Niro bred by Stutteri Pilekær

Farrington Pilekær by Franklin - Sir Donnerhall I - De Niro bred by Stutteri Pilekær

Successful auction with top prices

Auctioneer Casper Cassøe Krüth was in top form for last nights exclusive foal auction Nordic International Sales sponsored by Stutteri EVO. The weather started very cloudy and for about the last third of the foals it was pouring down, but it still kept the buyers active.

Most expensive foal became the first foal under the hammer Farrington Pilekær a very well moving and expressive colt by Franklin with Sir Donnerhall I as damsire - final bid was 120.000 euros for Danish buyer Havgaard Horses.

2nd most expensive was the full brother of last years top price, Francetti a colt by Franklin / Sezuan sold for 105.000 euros to Stutteri EVO, which also purchased a very nice filly by Franklin / Zonik for just 28.000 euros - this expressive filly was just showing something extra with a special way of coming off the ground with super lightness.

The Springbank II VH / Blue Hors Farrell filly was sold for 70.000 euros to Søren Grønborg. A young very lightfooted and expressive Vivalis / Romanov colt was sold for 46.000 euros.

German bred foals

A super German bred colt by Valverde / Donnerhall was sold for 61.000 euros, while another German bred top fillly by So Unique / Sir Donnerhall I was sold for 57.000 euros and a very impressive filly by Jainero Platinum / Floresco was sold for 50.000 euros.

VIDEOS - Blue Hors St. Schufro winner of Intermediaire I and Blue Hors Don Olymbrio winner of CDIO4 Grand Prix today

Strong winner performance from Blue Hors riders Nanna Merrald with Blue Hors St. Schufro in small tour, Intermediaire I (74,324%) today at Equitour Aalborg, while colleague Daniel Bachmann Andersen with Blue Hors Don Olymbrio to the victory in CDIO4 Grand Prix (77,652%).

Enjoy their tests here below.

Also Danish Dufour with her young Bohemian showed a great performance for today’s CDIO4 Grand Prix, scoring lots of 9s for piaffe, passage and transition - real pleasure to watch and what a successor for her long time partner Atterupgaards Cassidy when that day comes.

Collection online for Westfalen Summer Auction 16 June

Screen+Shot+2019-05-24+at+09.57.13.jpg

Once again no 1 looks like the clear top price for the auction. Impressive well moving 4 year old gelding by Dante Weltino / Vitalis. Very nice angle from behind in the trot and with nice expression in the forehand, good canter and very good walk.

The two other highlights from H2R point of view are both medium size horses, but common is very strong hindlegs, a natural closed frame and good expression, also when not presented in a high tempo.

Here you find the entire collection.

Marianne Helgstrand and her "schoolmaster" Lollipop with international CDI3 Grand Prix victory today

Lollipop and Marianne Helgstrand

Lollipop and Marianne Helgstrand

The 15 year old Lollipop with Marianne Helgstrand won today’s CDI3 Grand Prix at home soil in Uggerhalne.

The overall impression of their test was with power and expression, and with a super nice trot tour including sharp and expressive passage/piaffe tours, good walk tour, for the canter the 2 times becomes slightly mixed up with some one times, but super nice one times though. Both pirouettes could be shown with a bit more control and balance. Result 71,217% and for sure a huge improvement since CDI4 in Herning in March, and also a couple for the Danish national coach Nathalie zu Sayn-Wittgenstein to keep an eye on.

3rd - Kastel´s Nintendo USA - good halt, nice diagonal, good crossing and carriage for half passes, bit unbalanced halt for rein back, bit running diagonal, nice transition to passage, good expression passage, good piaffe but a few uneven steps hind, nice transitions, good walk tour, nice transition to passage, very nice springing passage, good 2nd piaffe nice balance, error 2 times, good zigzag, nice 1 times, good pirouettes slightly hurried, good transition to trot, nice final, becomes a bit uneven hind for final passage.

4th - Bakkely’s Onandt DEN - Nice halt, power diagonal, super flow/go for half passes, becomes spooky at C for halt, power diagonal, nice flow passage, piaffe, passage with active piaffe, super walk tour, nice transition to passage, super sit 2nd piaffe, nice transitions, super 2 times, bit hind aides for zigzag, full risk extended canter, good 1 times, lack bit more clear canter for 1st pirouette, small issue into final piaffe.

Screen Shot 2019-05-23 at 19.52.35.png

Not much to say, just enjoy Nanna Merrald and the 8 year old HANN stallion Blue Hors St. Schufro performing their first international Prix Sct. Georg. They really look like a sharp card for the prestigious Nürnberger Burg-Pokal competition.

Blue Hors St. Schufro DEN - smooth uphill, active, supple trot tour 78%!, nice walk pirouettes, good collected walk, good relaxation for extended walk, WAUW sit and control 1st canter pirouette! small tensions for series but well managed.

Strong error free Grand Prix Special performance from Atterupgaards Cassidy and Cathrine Dufour

IMG_8849.jpg

10% ahead

Exercise by exercise Dufour is just collecting valuable points all the way. It is obvious that Cathrine wanted to show a better test than the Grand Prix yesterday - and she did. As Cathrine told after her test: “today I was 100% in control and I’m very pleased about our performance”.

Atterupgaards Cassidy DEN - superb halt, good diagonal, good flow for half pass left, nice into passage at C, very nice in and out of extensions with expressive passage tours, good half pass right, superb walk tour, active piaffe at the spot, loosing tiny activity at end of 2nd piaffe but nice on the spot, bit tense transition to canter, nice half passes, super 2 times, super 1 times, power extension, super control and balance pirouettes, good 1 times, good transition to trot, nice long side, super nice final centerline, good halt.

Aston Martin DEN - good halt, direct forward, nice diagonal, small stumble at the short side, good half pass left, good regular passage, nice back from extension to passage, nice flow half pass right, smooth passage/extensions, good relaxation for extended walk, bit early start 1st piaffe, bit resistance also for 2nd piaffe but good rhythm, tension for transition to canter, small issue for change between canter half passes, good 2 times, good 1 times, good extended canter, nice sit for 1st pirouette, error for 1 times, good 2nd pirouette, nice extension at long side, lack bit more go for final piaffe.

Gammelenggårds Easy DEN - good halt, becomes a bit hectic at the diagonal need more uphill frame, good half pass to right, good transition to passage at C bit swinging hind, could be a bit sharper on the letters, bit unbalanced into half pass right, small tensions hind for passage, extended walk could show a bit more suppleness, good collected walk, lack bit energy for 1st piaffe, better 2nd piaffe, tense transition to canter, good zigzag canter, bit tense hind for 2 times, good 1 times, bit big pirouettes, just 7 changes at centerline?, good come more back from extension at long side, good final centerline.

Big win for Dufour with Cassidy and huge imprint from the other Danish combinations in today's CDI3 Grand Prix at Aalborg Dressage Event

Atterupgaards Cassidy and Cathrine Dufour

Atterupgaards Cassidy and Cathrine Dufour

Sharp Cassidy and Dufour even with a few minor issues today. The overall picture was sharp, with power, and even more espression for passage and piaffe. For the piaffe itself it looked with more sit and more lift in the forehand.

Nanna Merrald with Sådan Que showed also a very strong test. Easy effortless all the way, just the swinging one times makes the picture a bit unclear.

Helene Melsen show her stallion Aston Martin more motivated as we’ve seen him lately. Less switching tail and not crop high for the series.

Betina Jæger with a “new” Grand Prix partner Heartbreaker. A lot to like, with very good basic qualities and of course some minor communication issues.

Trine Mittag Jensen with Gammelenggårds Easy showed her best performance ever. Much better overall picture with the not high hindlegs all the time, good sit in the piaffe tours. Looks like less is more for her.

Signe Kirk Kristiansen and Her Highness O gives a nice and effortless impression. Not over ridden, but for the piaffe tours it just look like that Her Highness needed a bit more help from the rider today.
