Part of Press release
Danish Warmblood invites to international competitions, stallion licensing, gala shows and much more in MCH Herning from 5th March to 8th March 2020, and it will be attended by several of the world's best dressage riders. The event has been designated as part of the Danish selection for the Tokyo Olympics, and all riders in the elite group will therefore be at start.
Last year about 67.000 visited Danish Warmblood stallion licensing. In recent years, a pervasive theme has characterized the event and not least the big gala shows on Friday and Saturday nights. This year, the theme during the Danish Warmblood stallion licensing, will of course, be the Olympics. That's why the title of this year's event is: Let the Games Begin.
DWB 5-star Dressage
It is very important that the Danish dressage riders get the best possible preparation for the Olympics. For national coach Nathalie zu Sayn-Wittgenstein, it is about bringing the strongest team. The level of Danish dressage sport has risen significantly in recent years, and this gives the coach the positive challenge that there are more combinations than usual potential for one of the attractive three team spots and the reserve.
Prize money of DKK 500.000
Led by the Danish Warmblood and with great support from a number of sponsors, we have succeeded in making an extraordinary effort for this event in Jyske Bank Boxen from 5 - 8 March - international dressage sport at the highest level. Not only do the 5-star dressage competitions allow the riders to earn valuable points for the world rankings, it also means tougher competition from abroad. With a significant prize money of DKK 500,000.
National coach Nathalie zu Sayn-Wittgenstein states: - It has been a great wish to have a 5-star competition for Denmark. And it is amazing that the Danish Warmblood has fulfilled that wish. It shows that we are a very strong nation, that we can do something together. DWB 5-star Dressage will be an important part of the riders' preparation for the Olympics, and all riders at the Danish A-team will be at start either in the 5-star or the 3-star competition. - the competitions in Herning will be observers prior to the selection of the team for the Olympics. We get to see the potential Olympic candidates together and that will make the competitions very interesting, continues the national coach, who complements: - We have to select in the A-squad after DWB 5-star Dressage, which is why the competitions in Herning become extremely important.
Which Danish combinations?
The following riders will start in DWB 5-star Dressage: European Championship bronze winner Cathrine Dufour, Olympic riders Anne Kasprzak, Agnete Kirk Thinggaard, Anders Dahl, European rider Daniel Bachmann Andersen and national team debutants Carina Cassøe Krüth and Marianne Helgstrand.
Organisers are excited
The big event DWB 5-star Dressage in Herning has reverberated abroad as well, where several international profiles have expressed a desire to get one of the coveted places at the event. One of the total 20 spots in the Grand Prix class has already been reserved by resident Spanish top rider Severo Jurado Lopez, as an important part of his Olympic preparation for the Danish Warmblood mare Fiontini. In addition to the 5-star dressage, international 3-star dressage classes, CDI3 * are also part of the program, where the audience has the opportunity to experience young talented horses, giving a taste of what we can expect from them in the future. - We are looking very much forward to the new concept and are absolutely sure that the Danish dressage public will experience world class competition. The fact that the best riders will be at start with their potential Olympic horses will make the dressage competitions completely unique, says Casper Cassøe, director of the Danish Warmblood. He is pleased that the effort has greatly placed Denmark and the event in Herning on the world map. - Danish dressage and breeding of dressage horses are in the absolute world top. We will do our best to make the DWB 5-star Dressage a very special experience, both for riders and the audience. We are proud that the national team and the national coach support our efforts, and we are happy that together with our encouraging sponsors can support the riders' preparation towards the Olympics. And at the same time give the audience a very special experience in Jyske Bank Boxen, ends Casper Cassøe.
