Naqueen (Trafalgar x Samba Hit) and Kim Noordijk won the small final for six-year-old dressage horses at the Longines FEI/WBFSH Dressage World Breeding Championships for Young Horses in Ermelo with a score of 85.8%. The second place was claimed by San to Alati FRH (Secret x Bellisimo) and Stefanie Viehoff-Wolff) with 84.7%. Straight Horse Floriana (Franklin x Blue Hors Zack) and Mette Sejbjerg Jensen obtained 82.8% to place third.

The black Trafalgar offspring, bred and owned by J.G.M. van der Meijden, recovered himself after some errors and tension in yesterday’s test. The KWPN-bred stallion received an 8.8 for his trot, canter and perspective as a dressage horse. It resulted in a score that was no less than 9.6% higher than the day before. “It all came together today! Naqueen was very focused, and I am so proud of him. I know he has so much quality and I hope he can stay as relaxed as he was today’, says a happy Kim Noordijk after her lap of honour. “Hopefully I can ride the same way on Sunday. I am already thrilled to reach the final. That was our goal coming here and we have achieved it.”

Revenge

The Hanoverian-bred San to Alati FRH, last year the winner of the small final for five-year-old horses, also gave a better performance than a day earlier. Especially the walk of the chestnut stallion bred by Lena-Marie & Kerstin Klose and owned by Bernadette Brune, was rewarded with a 9.3 today, compared to an 8.5 on Thursday. The Danish warmblood mare Straight Horse Floriana, bred and owned by Straight Horse Aps, scored 4.8% more than yesterday. Partly thanks to her trot and perspective that were both awarded an 8.5. The Danish Straight Horse Aps are having a successful WC this year. Three horses bred by the stud in Lillerød were selected for Ermelo and all three qualified for the final for five-, six- and seven-year-old horses.
